A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official called for efforts to promote innovation and creation in philosophy and social sciences on July 28.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks while addressing a meeting on evaluating state-funded social science projects in Beijing.
Huang said people working in related fields should focus on developing philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, base their studies on great practices, comprehensively advance the construction of an academic discipline system, and strengthen research with strategic significance.
Huang also called for efforts to further implement major academic projects, deepen reforms of the scientific research management system, and develop favorable systems and mechanisms that support academic achievements and talents.
