A total of 45 China watchers from over 20 countries have joined the 2017 Symposium on China Studies, including 26 sinologists and academics from countries including the United States, Germany, France, India and Kazakhstan, and 19 Chinese scholars. The symposium centers on the Belt and Road Initiative.
Liu said he hoped the sinologists would fully understand the Chinese nation and Chinese culture and tap into Chinese wisdom that is of contemporary and global significance so that people across the world can feel the charm of Chinese culture. China watchers should also learn about China's development and its path, and accurately present an open and innovative country that contributes to human civilization.
Liu also said he hoped China experts fairly interpret China's ideas and principles and help bridge the communication between China and the world.
He pledged that China will provide more convenience for China watchers' research.
