It is urgent to improve the people's science literacy and stimulate their vitality for making innovations so as to provide firm support for building China's strength in science and technology (S&T), Wang said.
Calling for more efforts to increase international exchanges and share quality science promotion resources, Wang said science promotion work should foster an innovative spirit, build up confidence in making innovations and benefit the people.
Science promotion work should focus on arousing passion for science in young people and encouraging them to make innovations, Wang said, adding that S&T associations should make full use of science promotion platforms.
Around 18,000 science promotion activities will be held nationwide during the National Science Day which lasts from Sept. 15 to 21.
