​Wang Huning joined the panel discussions of NPC deputies from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions during the first session of the 13th National People's Congress on March 6.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, joined the panel discussions of NPC deputies from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions during the first session of the 13th National People's Congress on March 6.

At the panel, Wang said that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, China has made historic achievements in development and new progress in fully and faithfully implementing the principle of "one country, two systems."

Wang stressed the importance of implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress on work related to the two regions. He urged efforts in acting in strict compliance with China's Constitution and the basic laws of the two special administrative regions, and in supporting the governments and chief executives of both regions in exercising law-based governance.

Wang called for joint efforts from the two regions to think in big-picture terms and promote feelings of patriotism, in a bid to better maintain the prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao.
