Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, joined a group discussion about the government work report with deputies from Hebei province during the first session of the 13th National People's Congress on March 5.

Wang said during the discussion that the report embodies the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and it lays out the government's work this year.

Wang emphasized that China had solved many long-standing problems and improved the country's comprehensive strength and global influence as well as its people's sense of gain in the past five years.

He also spoke about his expectations that Hebei province will boost innovative, green and high-quality development, strengthen the people's sense of gain, happiness and security, and work hard to implement the plans by the CPC Central Committee for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
