Xinjiang's ethnic minority population maintains steady growth

The population of ethnic minority groups in northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has grown steadily over the past seven decades, jumping from less than 4.5 million in 1953 to nearly 15 million in 2020, according to a white paper released Sunday.
