Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks Monday at a commendation symposium on cultural and ideological progress in Beijing.
Literary and artistic works should advocate mainstream values and diversity, and tell China's stories well with lively, artistic images and originality, Huang suggested.
Huang stressed the importance of having a strong commitment to people-centeredness in creating literary and artistic works, while putting social benefit first. Efforts should also be made to attract talent to produce more fine works, he said.
