Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during his meeting with Nguyen Duc Loi, general director of Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

Calling the two countries friendly neighbors and important cooperative partners, Huang said top leaders of the two ruling parties and countries have met several times since last year, and pointed out the correct direction for development of bilateral relations.

He called on media in the two countries to deepen exchanges and cooperation, and serve as a bridge to boost the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Loi said bilateral media exchanges and cooperation have played an irreplaceable role in carrying forward traditional friendship and cementing peoples' mutual understanding.

The VNA hopes to enhance exchanges with Chinese media to contribute to stronger ties between the two parties and countries, he said.
