The delegation is made up of major diplomatic officials from Pakistan, Venezuela, Cuba, Egypt, Cambodia, Russia, Senegal, and Belarus, who are on permanent mission to international organizations in Geneva.

Jiang gave an introduction to the delegates about China's efforts in combating terrorism in its Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He said that due to the heavy human casualties and property losses in thousands of violent and terrorist attacks in Xinjiang since the 1990s, the autonomous region established vocational training centers to provide language, law and skill courses, making remarkable achievements in eliminating religious extremism.

With no violent and terrorist attacks for 25 consecutive months, people there are feeling more secure and content, Jiang said, adding that he believes the delegates will see the results for themselves on their following trip to Xinjiang.
