The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the General Office of the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress, and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television recently donated 300,000 television sets to households in poverty in 22 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across the country.
To avoid false claim or retention, every television set was tagged with a special QR code with information of the corresponding household in Jinzhai county, east China's Anhui province, and the codes are stickered on the television sets upon delivery.
Transporting the television sets was a challenge due to poor weather conditions and the remote locations of the recipients in southwest China's Sichuan province and Tibet autonomous region. Skyworth and Konka, the two companies in charge of production and delivering, worked extra shifts to produce the televisions and overcame these difficulties to complete the deliveries. Local governments also took on the challenge and mobilized whatever transportation tools on hand -- cars, tractors, motorbikes and even horses -- to deliver the televisions to households for installation.
