The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held a seminar on "new era" in Yan'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on Jan. 15.

The Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held a seminar on "new era" in Yan'an, northwest China's Shaanxi Province, on Jan. 15 to review a series of themed media interviews and reporting and plan for future publicity work.

Revolving on the theme of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, journalists from central and regional media outlets have visited major revolutionary historical sites, including Shikumen in Shanghai and Yangjialing in Yan'an, and reported on the daily lives of the local grassroots communities. Over 4,500 articles were published in print and online media based on these visits and interviews.

Speaking at the seminar, Jiang Jianguo, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office of China, gave high praise to the media reports, and said "they fully reflect how CPC members as well as the general public use CPC's innovative theories in their everyday work."

Jiang called for further reports on Xi Jinping Thought as well as the guiding principles of the 19th CPC National Congress in order to reach a wider range of people.

Over 150 senior representatives from the All-China Journalists Association, the publicity departments and media outlets at central and regional levels attended the seminar.
