China to invest 800 billion yuan in water conservancy

China plans to invest a total of 800 billion yuan (US$125.76 billion) this year in water conservancy projects, including major projects concerning flood control and disaster reduction, the optimal allocation of water resources, as well as irrigation, the Ministry of Water Resources said at a policy briefing Friday.
