A bridge built on the Tuojiang River in Southwest China's Sichuan province is expected to become the widest bridge in the world, able to contain a full-size football pitch.

The bridge is set to open in August 2023, as it recently completed the pile foundation construction. The bridge will have a total length of 963 meters and 86.7-meter width at its widest point.
