A training base for Chinese teenagers to participate in volunteering was unveiled in Beijing this week.

The training base, jointly established by the China Volunteer Service Federation and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, is the first of its kind in the country.

The training base, located in the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People in Beijing, is expected to provide teenagers with opportunities in volunteer service training and practical activities.

China's volunteer services have flourished since the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games. By the end of 2017, about 4.13 million people had registered for a number of volunteer positions in Beijing, 2.43 million more compared to that of 10 years ago.
