Volunteers to be recruited for B&R countries

According to the Beijing Volunteer Service Federation, China will recruit volunteers for six-month work periods at U.N. offices in the countries in the Belt and Road Initiative in 2018.

According to the Beijing Volunteer Service Federation, China will recruit volunteers for six-month work periods at U.N. offices in the countries in the Belt and Road Initiative in 2018. 

The aim of the volunteer service is to help to facilitate the local economic and social development and boost the cultural exchanges among international volunteers.

The recruitment is organized by the Beijing Municipal Committee of the China Communist Youth League, the Beijing Volunteer Service Federation, the United Nations Volunteers program and the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges. 

The volunteer position for UNICEF in Bangkok, Thailand, is responsible for publicity and communication, providing assistance for the publicity of UNICEF Thailand office.

The volunteer position for the United Nations Volunteers program in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is mainly to contact and coordinate the project partners and participate in the local publicity of the United Nations Volunteers program. 

The position for the United Nations Human Settlements Program in Nairobi, Kenya, is mainly to participate in the local projects focusing on the youth, women, the disabled, and other underprivileged groups, and set up relations with local NGOs, the local government and academic institutions.

Recruitment for these three positions has already begun. The age limit for the applicants is between 18 and 29. The scheduled service time of the project is six months, starting from March 2018 to September 2018. Applications can be submitted online at www.bv2008.cn.
