Exhibitors from 60 countries and regions to join Beijing fair for trade in services

The 5th China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held in China National Convention Center in Beijing from May 28 to June 1.

The 5th China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), an international and comprehensive fair for trade in services, will be held in China National Convention Center in Beijing from May 28 to June 1. According to the fair’s organizing committee, exhibitors from 60 countries and regions have confirmed they will join the fair, 26 more than the previous fair.

The World Trade Organization, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development are the fair's three permanent supporters. All three will send high-level representatives to attend the event, as will the four International cooperative organizations: the World Intellectual Property Organization, the International Trade Centre, the World Trade Point Federation, and the World Trade Center Association. Service providers from eight Chinese provinces and municipalities, including Beijing municipality, Tianjin municipality, Hebei province, Jilin province, Shanghai municipality, Jiangsu province, Henan province, and Chongqing municipality, have confirmed they will hold thematic activities during the fair. Jiangsu, the guest province of honor, is scheduled to hold exhibitions and theme day activities for the event. 

Regarding fair preparations, planning of the 50,000-square meter exhibition area has preliminarily finished, which are divided into the Chinese provincial/regional/municipal exhibition area, the international exhibition area, and the theme area. Organizers have preliminarily arranged 125 forum sessions and trade negotiations. National ministries and commissions and industrial organizations are expected to release nearly 20 authoritative industry reports during the five-day event, including the China Service Trade Development Report and the China E-Commerce Development Report. For the first time, the fair will enable mobile registration, such as using QR code scanning from WeChat, as well as facial recognition technologies, in order to enhance visitor experience.
