Cyprus reiterates its support of China's Belt and Road initiative on Friday, as the Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides made a review of his work at the end of five years in the Foreign Ministry.
"We are trying to promote Cyprus' participation in the Belt and Road initiative, considering that it is an ambitious vision by China's leader to strengthen cooperation between Asia and Europe," Kasoulides said.
Kasoulides made his remarks while detailing to the press Cyprus' ties with the five permanent members of the Security Council in the context of efforts to promote a deal ending the 43-year partition of Cyprus.
In relation to China, Kasoulides also said that Cyprus is participating as a shareholder in the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) based in Beijing.
