China, Indonesia to promote economic cooperation

China and Indonesia held their third high-level economic dialogue meeting on Aug. 22, saying that they would promote bilateral practical cooperation on the economy.

China and Indonesia held their third high-level economic dialogue meeting on Aug. 22, saying that they would promote bilateral practical cooperation on the economy.

Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi and visiting Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution co-chaired the meeting in Beijing.

They agreed to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, deepen bilateral strategic partnership and promote the Belt and Road Initiative.

Yang called on China and Indonesia to deepen cooperation, promote bilateral trade, enhance cooperation on infrastructure, agriculture, finance and energy, and explore new opportunities in emerging industries.

Darmin said Indonesia stood ready to work with China to explore cooperative potential in such areas as connectivity, trade and investment, finance and energy.
