The exhibition was set for helping people in central and eastern Europe (CEE) better understand the B&R Initiative as well as the realities of modern China, with around 60 photographs, 1,600 books and brochures and 330 discs on show.

The displayed photos showcased the achievements of B&R construction not only in economic cooperation but also in cultural and people-to-people exchanges, since being first proposed by China in 2013; meanwhile dynamic discs, albums and booklets unfolded a vivid picture of modern China.

Along with the exhibition, six provinces from China and 11 provinces from Romania also staged their own exhibition featuring featured local characteristics and examples of cooperative competitiveness under the Initiative.

"These provide useful information," said Dejan Pavleski, a deputy minister of the Local Self-Government of the Republic of Macedonia. "From them we can see China's efforts and other countries' participation in the Belt and Road Initiative."

The exhibits were highly visible, being direct and effective in explaining the Initiative, said Isvan Ujhelyi, a member of the European Parliament.

The exhibition was organized by China's State Council Information Office, the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese Embassy in Romania. It was staged by China Intercontinental Communications Center.
