Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office of China (SCIO), met with a delegation led by Abdulmonam Mansoor Al Hasani, Omani minister of information, in Beijing on Sept. 11.

Xu welcomed the visiting party on the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Oman. He said that the SCIO is ready to work with its Omani counterpart to promote the relations between the two countries and the relations between China and Arabic countries, especially through exchanges and cooperation in the media, and jointly build the Belt and Road and a more united community with a shared future.

The Omani side expressed its hope to expand media cooperation with the SCIO, carry out more reports on China's economic and social achievements, actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, and deepen understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on media cooperation after the meeting.
