Jiang Jianguo addresses seminar on China in the new era

Jiang Jianguo delivered a speech during a seminar with the theme of "China in the New Era" in London on April 11.

On April 11, an international seminar with the theme of "China in the New Era" was held in London as a promotion for the launch of the second volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" in multiple languages.

Over 70 renowned scholars and media professionals from China, the U.K., the U.S., Singapore and other countries were in attendance to discuss Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as China and the world in the new era.

Jiang Jianguo, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office of China, delivered a speech at the event.

Jiang said that Xi's thought has started a new chapter in realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and has opened a new scroll of strengthening China's integration with the world.

He stressed that in the new era, China will create more opportunities for the globe, open up further to countries around the world, carry out more communication and mutual learning among civilizations, and make more profound contributions to building a community of shared future for mankind.

The event was sponsored by China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS), China International Publishing Group and the 21st Century Council, and supported by the Chinese Embassy in the U.K.

Liu Xiaoming, China's ambassador to the U.K., Zheng Bijian, chairman of CIIDS, Felipe Gonzalez, former Spanish prime minister, Mario Monti, former Italian prime minister, Matti Vanhanen, former Finnish prime minister, attended the seminar.
