Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located in northwest China. For historical and environmental reasons, it has long lagged behind other parts of the country in terms of development, and it has a significant impoverished population. Thanks to strenuous efforts from all sides, major progress has been achieved in China's Xinjiang.
