Guo Weimin, vice minister of the State Council Information Office of China (SCIO) met with a Japanese delegation headed by Takashi Sasaki, managing director of Japan's Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) Television, in Beijing on Nov. 24.

The two sides held discussions on various topics including the coverage of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the enhancement of media cooperation between China and Japan.

During the meeting, Guo said he hoped TBS Television can help remove the misunderstandings and build consensus through objective coverage to boost the mutual understanding and facilitate the healthy development of the bilateral relationship.

Sasaki said that TBS Television will cover China objectively, boost the media cooperation between China and Japan, and make contributions to the development of the bilateral relationship.

Xi Yanchun, vice director-general of the Press Bureau of the SCIO, and Zhang Hongbin, vice director-general of the International Liaison Bureau of the SCIO, also attended the meeting.
