Liu Qibao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said that General Secretary Xi Jinping's report to the 19th CPC National Congress is the general guideline for the CPC and the country for a new era.
Liu made the remarks at a panel discussion of the delegation of Jiangxi Province to the 19th National Congress of the CPC in Beijing Wednesday.
Xi's report to the 19th CPC National Congress is a guiding Marxism programmatic document, establishing a new historical position for CPC members in a new era, injecting new energy into Marxism, and providing a new strategic guideline for socialism with Chinese characteristics, Liu Qibao said.
Liu said the report reflects a common view that historical achievements have been made under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. The theme of the report is to stick to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. The soul of the report is the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The fundamental requirement put forward in the report is to strengthen overall Party leadership and exercise full and rigorous governance over the Party.
