Recently, China declared that all of its 832 impoverished counties have now been lifted out of poverty. To mark this milestone, Fuxing Road Studio and the China Story database have jointly released an animated short film titled "Coffee Matters." The film tells the story of Chinese coffee beans, which were introduced to Yunnan province from the West over a century ago, becoming popular across the world and helping locals in Yunnan escape poverty and improve their wellbeing.

A century ago, a few coffee beans travelled thousands of miles from the West to China, the home of tea, and took root in China's Yunnan province. A century later, premium beans from Yunnan crossed mountains and oceans to show up at the world's market and international competition events, catching the eye of the world. A cup of mellow coffee from Yunnan tells China's lively stories of targeted poverty alleviation and provides an example for the world poverty reduction efforts.
