Chinese high-speed trains join express services for online shopping spree

Around China

China's railway authorities launched a trial express service to cope with surging packages during the country's e-commerce shopping peak time. On early Sunday morning, packages were being loaded onto a Fuxing bullet train at the Beijing West Railway Station. With 8 carriages and a load capacity of 40 tons, the train was bound for Wuhan city in central China. The travel time was over five hours. China will see a surge in orders around the annual online shopping spree on Nov. 11, which results in an explosion of packages for express delivery.
