The main structure of a super bridge on the China-Laos Railway is now complete as the two sides have been connected. The Amo River double-track railway bridge, 617 meters long, marks an important milestone in the construction of the cross-border railway. The China-Laos Railway is a strategic docking project in the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative. It is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2021, by which time a trip from Kunming, Yunnan Province, to Lao capital Vientiane will be cut to just one night.
