Senior CPC official calls for increasing public legal knowledge

A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday called for relevant authorities to increase the public's legal knowledge, and to encourage people to respect, learn about, abide by, and make use of laws throughout society.

A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday called for relevant authorities to increase the public's legal knowledge, and to encourage people to respect, learn about, abide by, and make use of laws throughout society. 

Huang Kunming made the remarks in Beijing during a meeting with officials responsible for increasing the public's knowledge of the law. He is a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and head of the law observance and education coordination team under the Commission for Overall Law-based Governance of the CPC Central Committee.

He said that, over the past five years, efforts in this regard have notably enhanced public awareness of the rule of law and social governance based on the rule of law.

He called for government organizations to improve relevant systems and mechanisms, and push forward efforts to increase people's legal knowledge throughout their lives.
