An article by Chinese President Xi Jinping on learning history will be published Wednesday.
The article by Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will be published in this year's 12th issue of Qiushi Journal, a flagship magazine of the CPC Central Committee.
Noting that history is the best textbook, the article stresses the need to know the histories of the Party and the country, draw experience from the past, have a correct view of major events and important figures in the histories of the Party and the country.
This will strengthen the confidence of the CPC members and the general public in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and further stimulate the people's tremendous passion for loving the Party, the country and socialism, the article says.
Through the learning of history, it is not difficult to find that without the leadership of the CPC, the country and the Chinese nation could not have made today's achievements and could not have obtained today's international status, says the article.
There must be no ambiguity or wavering on the important principle of upholding the Party's leadership, it says.
It calls on CPC members, cadres and the general public to well study and understand the histories of the Party and New China so as to carry forward the great cause of socialism.
