A senior Chinese official on Tuesday called for utilizing historical resources in learning the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) to progress the effort steadily and solidly.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during an inspection trip to central China's Hunan Province from March 20-23.
Huang visited local residential communities, rural areas, and publicity departments to learn about the work regarding Party history learning.
Hailing Hunan as a significant location in China's revolutionary history, Huang noted that the rich historical resources related to the Chinese revolution, including sites and memorial venues, must be utilized to instruct the people about the Party's history.
Huang also urged that when studying Party history, one must cross-reference Party history with current events such as the poverty alleviation efforts to understand the spirit passed down through generations and draw strength from it.
He also emphasized promoting Party history among the public through cultural creations, tourism, and other channels.
