A symposium was held in Beijing on Saturday to commemorate the birth centenary of late Comrade Hua Guofeng.
A symposium was held to commemorate the birth centenary of late Comrade Hua Guofeng in Beijing, capital of China, Feb. 20, 2021. Hua was an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a long-tested and loyal communist fighter, and a proletarian revolutionary who once held important leading posts in the Party and the government. Throughout his life, he had devoted himself to China's revolution, construction, and reform.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, addressed the symposium.
Vice Premier Han Zheng, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, attended the symposium.
Wang and Han met with Hua's family and relatives before the event.
While addressing the symposium, Wang commemorated Hua's lifetime achievements and called for learning from Hua's firm political faith, unswerving loyalty to the Party, his deep concern for the people, fine conduct of being truthful and down-to-earth, as well as his noble quality of being upright, clean, and self-disciplined.
Wang also called for making new contributions worthy of the times, the people, and the revolutionary forebearers, and mark the Party's centenary with outstanding achievements.
Senior officials, Hua's relatives, friends, and representatives from his hometown were present at the symposium.
