A senior Chinese official has called upon the country's musicians and dancers to depict the struggles and innovations of the Chinese people in their work to inspire audiences.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks on Monday at the opening ceremony of the national congresses of the Chinese Musicians Association and the China Dancers Association.

Huang encouraged the musicians and dancers to work more vigorously to fulfill their missions in the cultural sector, strengthen their cultural confidence, adhere to high standards in art and in ethics, and practice and promote core socialist values.
