Sun, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, expressed her appreciation for the roles women have played in epidemic prevention and control.

Sun made the remarks while being connected via video with representatives of female medical workers, police, disease control staff, community workers, journalists and volunteers.

While urging them to continue contributing to winning the battle against the epidemic, Sun expressed hope that the women can better protect and take care of themselves.

Party committees and governments at all levels should care for women fighting the epidemic at the frontline. Women's federations should help solve the difficulties in these women's lives and help reduce their psychological pressure, Sun noted.
