A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has asked the China Central Television's newly-launched channel to tell stories related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers well.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks Monday at the launch ceremony of the channel dedicated to agriculture and rural affairs.

Huang said the channel should showcase the tremendous achievements New China has made in terms of agriculture, rural areas and farmers, and present their brand-new looks in the new era.

He also asked the channel to adjust to the trend of media convergence and push forward more quality works at the service of agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
