A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Thursday called for efforts to tell China's stories well and strengthening international communication, to enhance Sino-foreign exchanges and mutual understanding.
Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a national meeting on publicity work.
Huang stressed the implementation of the spirit of a national conference on publicity and ideological work, which closed Wednesday.
The official said work should be done to tell China's stories well, make the voice of China heard, and present a true, multi-dimensional, and panoramic view of China to the world.
Efforts should be made to help the rest of the world better understand China, and enhance friendly exchanges in media, culture and tourism, as well as between think-tanks, to enhance friendly exchanges and mutual understanding between China and foreign countries, Huang said.
Publicity departments should also introduce new concepts and methods, improve coordination, and train more competent professionals in international communication, Huang said.
