Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a congratulatory letter that the Communist Party of China (CPC) is willing to strengthen dialogue, deepen exchanges and cooperate with the world's political parties and organizations, including communist parties.

The CPC is poised to work with them to contribute wisdom and strength to creating a community with a shared future for humanity and a better world, said Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, in the letter sent to a symposium that opened Monday in Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province.

The symposium, which was hosted by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and gathered more than 100 leaders and representatives of 75 communist parties from 50 countries, marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Karl Marx.

Xi extended congratulations to the opening of the meeting and warm welcome to the participants, on behalf of himself and the CPC.

In terms of the nature of science and truth, influence and spreading scope, there is no thought or theory that can attain the height of Marxism, nor is there a theory that has had such a tremendous impact on the world in the human history of thought, Xi said.

"Chinese communists have been persistently adapting Marxism to the times and advancing its sinicization and popularization, scoring a series of achievements in theoretical innovation, promoting socialism with Chinese characteristics to enter a new era, and displaying the vigor and vitality of scientific socialism in the 21st century," Xi said.
