Yang Xiaodu, deputy secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and minister of supervision, briefed around 800 officials, business executives, college faculty and students, and Beijing residents on Aug. 28 about the CPC's achievements in comprehensively strengthening its discipline in the past five years.

Yang said, since the 18th National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core has staunchly promoted "comprehensively strengthening Party discipline." The CPC has spared no effort in addressing issues that most concern the Chinese public and that may undermine the CPC's ruling foundation, as evidenced by a nationwide anti-corruption campaign.

Yang listed the achievements made in the CPC self-governance, including upholding the authority and leadership of the CPC Central Committee with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core, eight-point rules on austerity, inspection teams sent to various parts of China to monitor Party discipline, as well as cooperation with foreign countries on anti-corruption.

The briefing was hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Work Committee for Departments Directly Under the CPC Central Committee, the State Organs Work Committee of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission and the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
