China's political documentary on the nation's reform has been watched by 517 million people, according to a symposium held on Aug. 24 to discuss its success.

The ten-episode documentary "Carrying the reform through to the end," summarized the progress and achievements of China's reform since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012.

Views on some of China's most popular online video platforms were not included in the calculation.

Following the reform documentary, "Rule of law in China" was also aired on China Central Television.

A series of political documentaries, including one on China's diplomacy, will be released ahead of the upcoming 19th CPC National Congress.
