A European Symposium of the World Forum on China Studies was held from July 9 to 10 in Berlin, Germany, marking the third time the forum has been held outside China in three years.

Themed "China and Globalization: New Era, New Challenges," the forum was organized by the State Council Information Office and co-hosted by four Chinese and Germany think tanks.

Echoing the recently concluded G20 Hamburg summit, the forum discussed the changes and influences brought by globalization and the roles and responsibilities shared by China and the European Union in facing challenges of globalization.

During the forum, over 50 scholars from China, Germany and many other countries shared opinions on nine topics in three fields: "Current political and economic trends in China and the world at large," "China and the global cultural dialogue," and "China and the global order". The forum helped the European academia to further understand China's ideas and practices regarding globalization and global governance, giving theoretical support to the strategic cooperation between China and Europe in the new round of globalization.
