The event focused on how China and Kazakhstan can use journalism to strengthen bilateral ties.

Tuo Zhen, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, said that he hoped media organizations would report on the relationship between China and Kazakhstan in a positive light.

Media officers from both countries agreed to work together to report on President Xi's visit. They will hold activities to encourage communication between Chinese and Kazakhstani journalists.

President Xi will be in Kazakhstan from June 7 to 10, during which time he will attend the 17th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the opening ceremony of the Specialized Exhibition at the Astana Expo 2017.
