A total of 25 Mongolian journalists visited southern China's Guangdong Province from June 2 to 5, as part of a program hosted by the State Council Information Office (SCIO).

Journalists from Mongolian mainstream media visited leading tech companies in Guangzhou and Shenzhen to learn about the latest development in China’s sci-tech innovation. They went to a number of leading tech companies including social media giant Tencent and its WeChat headquarters, as well as GRGBanking, a provider of currency recognition and cash processing solutions. The journalists showed great interest in the innovative practice and operation of these companies.

The SCIO launched the weeklong program named "Focus on China's innovation" on May 31, inviting a total of 47 Mongolian journalists to visit Beijing, Zhejiang Province and Guangdong Province to learn about China's innovation-driven economy.

The program was previously held in 2015 and 2016 under different themes.
