Sponsored by China's State Council Information Office and co-organized by the BRNN secretariat and the Communication University of China, the workshop, themed "new era, new ideas, new media, new technology," will last until Sept. 29.

Lectures will be organized for the workshop and participants will visit media organizations in Beijing. They will also travel to some other regions in China for research and interviews.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Jiang Jianguo, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said news media organizations are an important link to enhance understanding and friendship among people from different countries, calling on the participants to carry out in-depth communication, share their experiences and promote practical cooperation in their profession.
