China will select and honor 10 outstanding science and technology workers to encourage dedication to the country's scientific and technological progress.
Science and technology workers across the country and the public are encouraged to recommend candidates who have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological innovation and education, according to a notice jointly issued by several departments, including the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
A series of events will also be organized in enterprises, research institutions, campuses, government organs, as well as online to call on people to learn from the role models, the notice said.
The list of final winners will be released in mid-July.
