Guided by the State Council Information Office of China and sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Information Office, the eight-day event will gather 72 officials, entrepreneurs, performers and inheritors of national cultural heritages from Wuxi.

A dance drama entitled "Nan Guo Hong Dou" was staged as the first event. Telling a love story set in Cambodia's Sihanoukville special economic zone (SEZ) based on true events, the drama was performed by the Wuxi Song and Dance Troupe and details the relationship between an engineer at a Wuxi-based textile company, Hodo Group, and a local Cambodian woman.

The first special economic zone in Cambodia, the Sihanoukville SEZ was developed in 2010 through an intergovernmental agreement and bilateral coordination between China and Cambodia.

The first zone of its kind, it has been making efforts to help poor people in Cambodia under the China-pioneered Belt and Road Initiative and now provides over 22,000 jobs for locals.

Inheritors of national cultural heritages from Wuxi will show works and skills of Huishan clay figurines, liuqing bamboo cravens, Wuxi Embroidery and erhu performances during the visit.

Apart from the dance drama performance, the local media of Wuxi and Cambodia also signed to cooperate on Feb 18 – Wuxi Daily will have a special column on Cambodian local media "The Light of Cambodia", featuring Wuxi's economy, culture and life.
