The State Council Information Office of China held a New Year reception Wednesday, attended by more than 400 Chinese and foreign guests.

The State Council Information Office of China (SCIO) held a New Year reception Wednesday, attended by more than 400 Chinese and foreign guests.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the reception.

The reception invited Chinese and foreign media, spokespersons of central and state organs, foreign diplomatic envoys, and representatives of international organizations.

Noting 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Huang said he hopes foreign friends would learn more about what is taking place during China's development and show real, vivid and comprehensive images of China to the world.

He also thanked the guests for their efforts in telling Chinese stories to the world and promoting exchanges between China and the world.

Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office, said the office would provide higher-quality, more efficient and professional services.
