The South African city of Johannesburg is hosting the second BRICS seminar on governance, with more than 100 officials – mainly former dignitaries from member countries and think tanks – in attendance.

All BRICS members – Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa – are represented in the forum jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the South African National School of Government.

The purpose of the seminar is to exchange ideas on good governance, and enhance cooperation to ensure global good governance.

BRICS cooperation not only provides new solutions to global economic governance, but also reflects the understanding of emerging and developing economies on building a more equal-footed new order of global governance, one that is hoped could bring sustainable development worldwide.

Senior leaders at the meeting emphasized the need to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind with people at the center.
