China boosts sci-tech progress with 7.1 trillion yuan outlay in past decade

Over the past 10 years, China spent a total of 7.1 trillion yuan in general public budget on science and technology to build its strength in the sector, Vice Minister of Finance Xu Hongcai said Tuesday.
