Xu Lin, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office of China (SCIO), met with a delegation led by Alexander Smirnov, chief of the Russian Presidential Directorate for Public Relations and Communications, in Beijing on Sept. 28.

Xu welcomed the visit of the delegation. In the meeting, Xu expressed the hope that media professionals from China and Russia can continuously strengthen exchange and cooperation, build on what they have already achieved while becoming more effective in their work, and promote the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between the two countries.

Smirnov said that previous China-Russia media forums had received warm responses, and that he hopes the two sides can promote the platform, expand areas of cooperation, deepen friendship between the two countries, and push forward China-Russia relations.
