Speaking at the donation ceremony, Milorad Dodik, chairman of the Presidency of BiH, said that the donation was a practical manifestation of the friendship between China and BiH, and that the equipment "will solve a big problem for the hospital and will contribute to the treatment of local cancer patients."

He said that the Republika Srpska, one of the two entities of BiH, is ready to deepen its practical cooperation with China in such areas as transportation, energy and health.

Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping said that China and BiH have had friendly exchanges in many fields for a long time. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the two countries have further strengthened cooperation in the field of health care.

"We hope that the cyto chamber donated by China will contribute to the improvement of the local people's medical and health conditions. I wish good health to all people in BiH and a safe ride out the epidemic," Ji said.

So far, the hospital has been using an old device that was made in 2007 and has undergone many repairs, said Jadranka Jovovic, director of the hospital's oncology and hematology department, adding that China's donation is very important and essential for the protection of medical staff, nurses and workspaces.

"It is also absolutely necessary for the smooth operation of the hospital," she said.
