First batch of Chinese medical equipment arrives in Croatia

The first batch of medical supplies from China, 12.5 tons in total, arrived on Sunday at the Zagreb airport, the Croatian government said, calling it "another example of high-quality cooperation" between the two countries.

The first batch of medical supplies from China, 12.5 tons in total, arrived on Sunday at the Zagreb airport, the Croatian government said, calling it "another example of high-quality cooperation" between the two countries.

Another 10 tons of Chinese protective equipment arrived in Frankfurt on Saturday and will be transfered to Croatia later Sunday.

Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Xu Erwen said that China is ready to share its experience on prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 with Croatia, provide medical supplies, and strengthen international cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.

"China will always stay with the Croatian government and people to overcome the current difficulties until the final victory," the Chinese embassy said in a press release on Sunday.

Croatia confirmed 713 cases of COVID-19 as of Sunday afternoon since the first case was reported on Feb. 25. Six patients have died.

Health Minister Vili Beros said on Sunday that Croatia's defense against the novel coronavirus will be significantly strengthened with China's help.
